Platform For Homepreneurs – I Made It

Imadeit.in was made out of love for people to showcase and start an income from their talent.

Pulkit Nagpal, an ex-marketing manager in a Dubai firm, believes each household booms with talent in its own right. Hence, he wanted to provide a platform for such artists to showcase their talent with their products. If given a chance, Small and medium enterprises can make a huge difference in the economy of any country.

Platform For Homepreneurs

An idea struck Pulkit’s mind when he noticed a few stationers helping students in getting their projects and models done through various housewives and kids around them.

After few surveys and studies, he started working to build a platform to promote the hidden talented passionate artists of the society with the belief when there could be so many online platforms for manufacturers, hoteliers, traders etc then why not a place that could cater only home entrepreneurs, rather than them rely only on social media.

With a motive to ‘Make In India’, Pulkit started from a full-fledged office cum studio in Paschim Vihar (West Delhi) with a team of three more people, Prachi Jain (Chief Designer & an alumni of NIFT Delhi); Social media experts Syona (an ex-amazon employee) and Sakshi (Qualified Jewellery Designer).

Started off by promoting a home-based business which is close to/reaches hearts. Be it a mother running her catering service for the young one living alone in town for education/professional need; a sister trying to bake a cake and cookies for her friend’s party; a Dadi making sweaters/blankies on arrival of little bundle of joy; an aunty making cushions/ bedsheets to show it to her kitty friends; a beautiful friend designing clothes to beautify others; bhabhi or cute friend making memorable gift item for the lovebirds.

A painter who adds color to life, a sketcher creating life art, villager making handicrafts to keep his ancestors art and teaching alive, a doctor or specialist making own medicated products and it doesn’t just end here.

Around 30 % of their makers are either students or working with some big organizations but have a creative curiosity that doesn’t let them sleep before they make something amazing.

I MADE IT (IMI) is all about people who want to turn their passion into a business. Started with one home baker and 4 artistic women on board, within 3 months, they have done a business of around Rs. 80k which was enough to give them a boost and launched their website www.imadeit.in in March 2017.

Thus, the hashtag became ANYTHING HANDMADE EVERYTHING HOMEMADE. This is not like any other online platform where you can buy stuff but you get a chance to get them to customize too (by customization they don’t mean only the name but color theme, concept etc).

The website allows any buyer to get in touch with the maker before placing the order. Get your full satisfaction and then make the payment to the maker directly. Buyers enjoy the products at the most reasonable prices as IMI charges 0% commission and don’t require any GST registration to promote their stuff online.

Big Indian weddings are also a big client, where people enjoy gifting exclusive products to their guest. They are in a panel of many wedding and event planners and doing regular supply of Wedding Hampers, Cards and Corporate gifts to them.

Apart from the above, through Flea Markets they have been able to beat the competition around by being a one-stop solution to the crowd where they display these creative products, now these homemakers have to make their products and send across to us. We take care of their sales & marketing and have enjoyed sales over 1 Lac Rupees in a 3 days Fest with the product price ranging from ₹50-₹1200.

I MADE IT has a subscription-based model and charges Rs. 450/- an annual fee to be on board with us them.

Their real motivations are their Makers’ creative creations and the buyers who have rewarded them with their amazing reviews and feedback by enjoying everything in one place. The imperfection in their handmade products is the exclusivity and reason for repetitive clients.
